I’m a poster designer with a profound passion for this industry. My former account name is He Yuqin, and I’ve been working in poster design for 8 years. Here I attach the link to the works from my former account: https://xhslink.com/m/67qUk4qwId3. :https://www.zcool.com.cn/u/19458074.As a poster designer from China, all my previous works are showcased on Xiaohongshu and ZCOOL. This year, I want to create movie posters I love under my new identity WuXkos. I have a deep love for horror aesthetics and mysticism, and I will keep creating my favorite posters and uploading them online. I’ve been following posterescape for a long time and have seen numerous outstanding works here, so I’m eager to join the community to learn and exchange ideas with others.
This poster for The Shining I’m uploading was created on a tablet, with every single detail hand-drawn. It recreates my favorite scenes from the film, depicting the hotel corridor from a distinctive perspective. The power of the Shining is translated into visual imagery, as fragmented snippets of terror from the movie flash and intertwine across the space.
The iconic Hicks hexagonal carpet sprawls in distorted geometric forms, embedded in the floor like an endless pattern of cycles, echoing the Navajo and Apache Indigenous geometric motifs that adorn the walls and elevator. Scarlet waves of blood surge forth from the depths of the corridor, sweeping through the entire space with an overwhelming, all-consuming pressure. In this inverted realm, Danny stares at the wall, while the figures of the Grady sisters are frozen in the crimson tide, blending seamlessly with the churning blood. Their cold, faint silhouettes flicker amid the red mist, immortalizing the bone-chilling moments of terror from the film into an eternal visual impact.
A blood-stained axe lies forsaken and still on the ground; its mottled bloodstains echo the carpet’s patterns and the scarlet glow of the blood waves. It is both the lingering trace of violence and a foreshadowing of fate, a stark declaration that the curse of the Shining has never faded.
